Building Crush Waverly Plantation

One of my goals for the summer is to visit many of the Antebellum houses that are around the Starkville area. I have gotten to The Waverly Plantation and have developed a deep crush on the building. It was originally built in 1852 by George Hampton Young. In 1962 after years of abandonment and neglect the Snow family bravely restored the building. It is now on the National Historic Landmarks list and one can tour the building and gardens. Contact Waverly @ 662-494-1399. here are some sketches from my trip and some postcards. The most impressive part is the four story staircase that goes up to the huge cupola. All I can think about is Frank Gehry you think you are so great!

Waverly was scarey! It's haunted, but pretty cool! Mom tricked me into going. she never told me it was haunted!
