, to the back of the Little Building building and closed the cafe and moved our studio to the cafe space. All sad moves but actually the result has been very interesting. Madeline, Caleb and I are now living in a small space much like our Brooklyn life and oddly it feels "right". I thought I would document the result this fall for a number of reasons. One is it doesn't look half bad, two I feel better about our carbon foot print in relation to our family-also since we renovated the building the utilities are LOW.......and finally you see many small space articles and they all seem to involve young couples sharing space and we are not young AND we have a giant teenager in out mist-so its a challenge. So stay tuned and let's see how it goes-

building change
Well this is a hard post to write but as some of you know we moved from the beloved 305 Greensboro
, to the back of the Little Building building and closed the cafe and moved our studio to the cafe space. All sad moves but actually the result has been very interesting. Community Building
Ghislaine Vinas did a lovely piece about Little Building Cafe on the Interior Design Blog. Its so nice when people get it.I want to announce that Ted and I will be holding a benefit for Re-building Haiti on February 21st. We want to have a "works on paper" sale to highlight the mega creative capital that is in our orbit. Please contact me if you would like to contribute a drawing, photograph, print, etc. It does not need to be framed we show work inside Little Building on a series of clothes lines so we will work in that format for this show. All proceeds will go to Architecture for Humanity

It looks like Little Building Cafe will be on the road alot in early spring. It has be chosen for presentations at the ACSA
conference in New Orleans in March as well as the IDEC Conference in Atlanta. And perhaps some chairs will show up at a show at SCAD. We will keep you posted.

Little Building Cafe Blog
Okay, I have been working long and hard to get the Little Building Cafe blog up and running. It's not exactly how we want it yet but we will all work through the tiny adjustments, I hope. This new blog will serve as a almost daily update of what Ted is preparing at LBC, what we are getting from farmers and what we hope to get from farmers...Also it will serve as a way to talk about the community and our interests and work in the community. I hope to also feature role models from the culinary world as well as cool work being done to promote sustainablity and yes some design thoughts as well. Please let me know what you think as we get this off the ground.

Building ........
Little Building Cafe is finally open. In reality it took under a year from getting the building to opening the doors but in a small town, people have been ready for it for awhile. Sorry about slacking on the building updates but I am not self-reflective and construction is a tough subject to stay happy about.... Next week I will start a Little Building blog that will give a daily update of what Ted is cooking and what we are getting from farmers. I will also talk about books we are reading on sustainability and food, the Local Food movement as well as pay homage to some culinary heroes......Stay tuned.

Sneak Peak- Little Building Cafe
We are so close; in fact hope to open on Saturday! Here are the amazing tables that we designed and made for Lubna Chowdhary's tiles. All the quadrants are parts of the map of Starkville, Mississippi! So great. It's all coming together!

Little Building
The Little Building project has now entered the Chinese Water Torture column of life......It is hard to get people to work for someone they do not really know AND during the hottest time of the building season. So next week the windows are getting trimmed out, the solar hot water heater gets installed as does the tile and maybe the sign gets started. We still have along way to go. But it will be beautiful and my brother Ted makes a good biscuit.www.littlebuildingcafe.com.
